On Reminders
Hiiiii friend,
I learnt this week that you cannot use the nylon technique to cause interference and noise on whatsApp calls like normal network calls. This was after I tried using it to escape a serious conversation. I was disappointed and the person on the other end of the call kept laughing.
I made the person laugh for free but I’m telling you this so you can find other ways to dodge conversations on calls. You can try airplane mode, it works. You’re welcome.
Sweet babe, Thelma gave us today’s pics!
Unto today’s episode…
On Reminders
Recently, I’ve thought more about journaling than actually journaling. I decided to set up my alarms to pray and journal once again because time just passes by and I forget to do these things. Will there ever come a time where I'll be able to do these things without alarms or reminders? I wonder.
I guess recognising that I may not be able to remember things on my own and taking the helping hands of my alarm is a form of strength, not weakness. Many times, I beat myself up about not being completely self-sufficient. Like these days, I forget a lot of important information and remember very random things. It feels like my brain has that Google banner where it says storage full and cannot backup new photos. Get storage
I remember I asked my friend to list out her test and moving date while she watched me write them in my small notepad. She was laughing and telling me I didn't have to. She was right. She didn’t need me to, but I wanted to. She had mentioned it before and I’d forgotten so I decided to write them down this time and set reminders. When I get notifications on the set days, I’m reminded to show up for her. Imagine I kept trying to suffer my brain to remember and I ended up forgetting it? I’d have not been able to show up.
All this to say, the goal is remembering, right? The way to achieve the goal doesn’t matter. Delegating doesn’t necessarily mean to a person, it can be to a system. I can delegate the “remembering” aspect of my life to alarms and reminders. After all, I spent big money to buy a phone that has these features, best to put it to good use.
Amen.
I just found this playlist by my friend, Mike and it took me way back to when I really enjoyed hip-hop. Enjoy!
Goodnight ❤️,
