On Love language
Hey boo hey,
Reuniting with my fave, boiled corn and coconut after weeks of separation was a major highlight of my week. I knew my connection to boiled corn and coconut was really deep the day I went out under the rain to get some. It’s particularly interesting because corn is seasonal so why did I go under the rain that day as if I’ll never see corn again in my life? What kind of behavior is this?
Thelma is back to giving us pics, so enjoy.
Today’s episode…
On Love language
I came out of my room yesterday afternoon and met Thelma standing by the balcony unearthing her plant. As I drew closer, I realized that Thelma’s plant had kicked the bucket and this was a brief funeral for it. I tucked my disappointment of not getting an invitation away and joined in.
Aimee lived a very short life. The death of this plant had Thelma questioning herself on so many levels. So she messaged the vendor on Instagram to get some closure. It was important to her to find out the cause of Aimee's sudden death and reduce the chances of repetition in the future.
She took pictures of Aimee and answered all the questions asked. Anything to aid the autopsy process. Oh, so you’re supposed to water your plant once in 2 weeks rather than once a week. The vendor informed Thelma. The autopsy made sense because the soil was still damp and looking healthy.
Thelma's eulogy was short but reflective.
It’s so weird. I thought I was doing right by this plant the entire time. It’s like how you think you’re loving someone properly or in their correct love language instead you’re doing your own and the love isn’t growing but dying.
After we disposed of the plant, we chatted about her eulogy and concluded that it’s all boils down to loving or caring for someone the way they want to be loved or cared for. Rather than doing what you like or what you think is right and start wondering why the love isn’t thriving. Also, don’t wait till your plant dies to seek help. When you start seeing unhealthy signs, speak to a plant pro about it.
